Synagogues (two), Cathedral, El Greco House - Museum, other El Grecos in various places (Burial of Count Orgaz in Santo Tome church) for one. San Roman Church and Visagoth Musuem. You can see the whole place in one day. Great place to walk around. If you are there for evening meal and have money try the Adolfo Restaurant.
2 :
Check online to be sure that the Greco House is open. It was closed for renovations last summer, but, even with Spanish construction schedules, they may be done now. It would only slow you down for a little bit, and all the artwork you want to see from his house is in a little museum and available for viewing, but you don´t really want to have to detour if you can go straight to the museum. Also, while you're there, you want to get some marzipanes. It is the local treat, supposedly the best in Spain.
3 :
In addition to what has been said, you might want to visit the Alcázar for its historical significance. Also, a trip via cab to the parador across the Río Tajo is worth the trip. There is a beautiful view of Toledo from a slight elevation that has been treated by painters throughtout history. It's very scenic.

About What is there to do in downtown Toledo

What is there to do in downtown Toledo?
I will be traveling from the Metro-Detroit area to the Toledo Zoo on Sunday, and I am interested in what else there might be to do in Toledo after we spend the day at the Zoo. Are there any good places you would recommend to eat at? Anything downtown to do? Thanks!

Please don't do this on the Internet.........please!!! This is more than risky, its really not safe. I beg you, don't take a ride with a stranger.
4 :
Sorry to tell you this chick but... you can't be doing this. My sister got abducted and raped and shit like that.
5 :
Really you should check in with the students at your school, because asking on the internet can really land you somewhere you don't want to be. Any crep can lie and say he is from your school and he is not. So I suggest to ask around personally.
6 :
You might need to watch the show Prison Break a few shows back. Risky is the least of your problem.

youre mother would be furious with you if she knew you asked this question, for that matter so would anyone that loves you, and i'm sure someone does

American Airlines operates non-stop American Connection flights between Toledo and O'Hare. You can carry a normal-sized cat in an approved carrier in the cabin with you or check the carrier as luggage. If you book in advance and are flexible in your flight choices, the price really isn't too bad. For example, I just checked and there is a $60 one-way fare from Toledo to O'Hare available on 12/15/10. (Round trip may be cheaper and there is an additional fee for pets.) (I chose this date at random, there may be cheaper or more expensive fares on other days.) See: http://www.aa.com/i18n/travelInformation/specialAssistance/travelingWithPets.jsp AA is the only non-stop carrier. You may be able to construct connections on other airlines. Neither Greyhound nor Lake Front Lines accept pets. Amtrak does not accept pets.

About I have an opportunity to travel overseas to one of these places, which should I choose

I have an opportunity to travel overseas to one of these places, which should I choose?
I have this amazing opportunity to travel abroad through my college. This will be my first time being anywhere but America. We will be here for about 8 days. Here are the choices: London Ireland (Dublin, Belfast) Spain (Toledo, Madrid, Salamanca) Scotland (Edinburg) Any recommendations? Extraneous notes: I am really into antiques/old buildings/ancient ruins. I like warm weather. I love travelling, so any of these would be a win for me.

Spain is warmer, but Ireland if you like getting drunk.
2 :
Pick London. U could get to speak that funny English.
3 :
My favorites of those listed are Madrid (for the art museums which are incredible, plus Spain will be a little warmer) and Edinburgh (for everything else). I used to live in Edinburgh, and it's a fantastic place to explore if you love old buildings. The "new" part of the city is 200-300 years old, and Old Town is much older. The surrounding scenery is beautiful (climbing Arthur's Seat is a must). It's a great combination of atmosphere, history and a lively nightlife. Scots are also very friendly and welcoming. The only downside is that the weather can be unpleasant, especially in winter. I recommend reading through city guides (Wikitravel is good for listing what to do in each place) and choosing the one that seems most interesting to you. http://wikitravel.org/en/Edinburgh http://wikitravel.org/en/Madrid
4 :
All depends on how important the warm weather is. ;0) For all the other criteria, I would say it is definitely a straight choice between Edinburgh and London. Overall, I would say London is the obvious choice. You could spend 8 weeks in London (let alone 8 days) and see something new and exciting every day. It is also a lot warmer than Edinburgh.

This site has helped me in the past check it out. www.okctravelz.com
2 :
You can travel by train, changing at Chicago from the Texas Eagle to the Capitol Limited. There is a bus from Killeen to Temple free of charge for train passengers. The train trip takes 10h 49 to Chicago, 4 hours to Toledo and a three hours and a half of layover (that is a good cover against delays). Ticket cost is US$ 156 but if you purchase in advance is cheaper, and there are also deals and discounts.

Are there still any bus lines besides Greyhound at all? I haven't seen any in years.

You can catch an Amtrak train in Lafayette up to Chicago, then switch to another train to Toledo. Go to www.amtrak.com for details.

Train travel between Toledo Ohio and Toronto Canada and back?
I can't drive the 6 hours right now & don't want to fly. All the buses I've seen take 8-10 hours! I thought for sure there would be a direct train from Toledo to Toronto. Is there?

you have to switch trains at buffalo but it is possible i have done it myself
2 :
No, there isn't any international train service between Ontario and Michigan/Ohio. The train will take you 16.5 hours - 5.5 hours from Toledo to Buffalo, 6 hours waiting in Buffalo, then 5 hours to Toronto because of the wait at the border.
3 :
The closest train without going all around the world would be to go up to Detroit and cross over to Windsor Ontario where u can catch Via Rail Canada to Toronto I am not sure if it would really save u any time versus the bus but it would be a lot quicker than going through Buffalo
4 :
Or you can try from Toledo to New York, and then New York to Toronto, sometimes you can find the very cheap bus fare. Well, just for your reference.

Unless you hire a car and drive to Segovia, you will have to return to Madrid. Take the train to Madrid Atocha Station, transfer to Madrid Chamartin, then get the train to Segovia. It only takes 30 mins to get from Toledo to Madrid, and the entire trip wil only take between 3 1/2 to 4 hours depending on the train you catch. You can check timetables at: http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en?ld=212.24&searchMode=ADVANCED&
2 :
I think you can take the train through Madrid, changing at Atocha. I'm sure there's a bus, but it, too, may change in Madrid. It's, like 45 minutes to either city, and, so, even if you're driving, skirting Madrid (still taking the M-30, I think) it's going to take you about an hour and a half.
3 :
BY BUS: There is no direct Bus from Toledo to Segovia (see http://www.ayto-toledo.org/servicios/estacionbus/bus.asp) Buses from Toledo to Madrid are run by Alsa (www.alsa.es), cost €8,53 return, and in Madrid stop in Plaza Eliptica. Buses from Madrid to Toledo are run by a Sepulvedaana (http://www.lasepulvedana.es/) They don't say which station they stop at in Madrid, but I think it is Principe Pio. BY TRAIN You would need to take a 30min Avant Train to Atocha for €10, then take a cercanias train to Charmartin (10min), and there an AVE to segovia also for €10. Info at www.renfe.es I think the train is probably the best option, as it is quicker with an easier transfer in Madrid. The only way to go direct would be by hire car. You could do this with Europcar.es but it would cost €50+
