Hola! I'm going to Spain in January and want to visit various parts, any suggestions on cheap travel within?
It could be bus or train, I can't find the price on train if its by destination it only gives me "3 days in two months for $$$", seriously I just want to know, for example, if I take a bus to Madrid can I stop in Toledo? Where can I find this stuff out? Well hope to hear from someone soon! Adios

when I went to Madrid with my friends, we took the train to Toledo - it's about an hour in each direction. I'd imagine Sevilla and Madrid will be significantly milder than the rest of the country in January - plenty to see and experience in terms of culture and history in both cities. A good resource I used to plan my trip was the Let's Go Spain and Portugal book. Also, check out the website for Spanish tourism - www.okspain.org, it might have some useful information. Good luck.

Bus is a good option and it´s cheaper than trains; there are several bus companies depending on the destinations. I have always used Continental Auto to travel to and from Madrid-Granada and they have service to many more places. Check their site, you have the English option and there are different bus companies. http://www.spain-faqs.com/buses-in-spain.htm This one is fine too: http://gospain.about.com/od/bustravelinspain/Bus_Travel_in_Spain.htm And this one which shows bus service around Andalucia: http://www.andalucia.com/travel/bus/home.htm I have checked that all these sites have the English language option. I hope you´ll find them useful. And answering your question: yes, you can stop in Toledo or any place you want to; just go to the bus station and you´ll check the number of possibilities; maybe not with the same company, but there are many different ones.

I think prices on bus are sometimes cheaper than train traveling. But the price is not the only important fact. The train system covers almost all the interesting points to visit, and in many cases, the stations are just downtown, so You do not have to take taxis, urban buses, at all, just walk around and find the best sightseeing tours by yourself. Also, the weather conditions has to be taken. In January, the weather is a kind of cold there. I think trains have heater devices. do buses have similar facilities?. If You buy an Eurail Pass, it covers as many travel and stops as You decide, in case You buy a ticket covering the days You will be traveling. Normally it covers 1, 2 weeks, or 1, 2, 3 months. Having the Eurail pass You can decide where, and when to go, but if Your plans are to stay many days at the same place, so the eurail pass is not the best option. For accommodation, there is a system of hostels where You share room, cooking, and dinning areas. With this system You have the opportunity to share nice talks, experiences and sight seeings with other travelers. Traveling by train or by bus You have to be flexible Whit the plans and make the necessary changes as You discover local activities, events or attractions. Enjoy making your plans and traveling
